The last time I worked on this model was on May 8 (even though the article was published on the 9th), and I had not built anything for quite a while either, so yesterday I decided to correct that omission with this long-forgotten model. Well, I had not actually forgotten it — I still remembered perfectly well how I had struggled like mad with one of the driveshafts, and I hoped that this time I would not mess anything up.
Anyway — finishing Step 3:
Instructions — Step 3
I still had D36+B77 and B75+B76 left to assemble from last time — I put them together without any problems.
The problems appeared again with the driveshafts, especially part B27. I do not know whether I did something wrong (but twice, with six months between the two attempts?!), but this part is longer than it should be, and I had to shorten it at both ends just to make it fit at all. Apart from that — “routine” work, nothing particularly difficult.
Well — that was it for this step. I am a little disappointed with the driveshaft part of the kit — unless I am the one doing something wrong, but twice?
After about an hour of work, the progress is:
And in real time, the build looked like this:
Unfortunately, the video turned out to be a complete failure. Never mind — at least I think I figured out how I should film it…
Today or tomorrow I hope to have the time and inspiration to continue.
