Hmm – déjà vu. After another week of being ill, I’m carrying on with the NASAMS build…
Almost the entire family was ill again; only Elena managed to avoid another bout. I don’t know how it happened. It’s the first time we’ve all been ill again just two weeks after the previous round, but… What can we do, apart from tea and aspirin 😂 And Pancef for Preslav, though that was his luck.
I’m continuing the build in a slightly chaotic order, but you’ll see why.
First, I returned to step 8 because I had missed part B39:

I glued it on and decided to continue with the mast in the top right of the instructions. Neither caused any problems, apart from fitting B39 being a little awkward, but nothing worth dwelling on.
I continued with step 6:

Or at least its lower section. I left parts B4, B5 and B45 for later. The only slightly tricky point here is to be careful when assembling B10 and B12. Parts like these are usually keyed so that they can only fit together in the correct orientation, but these aren’t. Make sure you orient them so that the opening is formed on only one side.
Finally, I continued with step 5:

This was extremely easy, with no problems. I also cut out part A12, but didn’t glue it on. I only put it in place as a reference and to make painting easier…
So, after around 45 minutes of work, this is where I got to:

I won’t be building tomorrow, as we have our weekly Vecna: Eve of Ruin session…
